Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations near Summerville, South Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing key close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity through detailed review and reconciliation. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.

• Maintain the general ledger by recording and validating financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting activity, accruals, adjustments, and period-end close requirements.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolve issues promptly and maintain reliable financial data.

• Complete bank reconciliations by comparing account activity, identifying variances, and following through on outstanding items.

• Analyze financial records and supporting documentation to confirm completeness, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for reporting, reconciliations, and close-related deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for month-end close activities.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement support processes.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate journal entries and supporting documentation.

• Experience performing account reconciliations and researching variances independently.

• Hands-on background in completing bank reconciliations within established deadlines.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
