Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations in Irving, Texas. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. The person in this role will contribute to core accounting activities, help keep reporting on schedule, and collaborate with internal teams to support smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are captured accurately and on time.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and supporting month-end close tasks.
• Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure timely vendor payments.
• Reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts to confirm accuracy and resolve outstanding items.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and provide supporting schedules for internal review.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather accounting information and respond to routine financial inquiries.
• Monitor accounting records for completeness, consistency, and compliance with established procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience preparing journal entries in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and account reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable and invoice processing.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial data.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage deadlines, organize priorities, and work effectively in a team setting.

Compensation

$29.69-$34.38 Hourly
