Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a contract assignment based in Newport Beach, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone with strong experience managing end-to-end payroll activities across multiple states while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The right candidate will be comfortable handling high-volume payroll processing and using ADP Workforce Now to support efficient payroll administration.

Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a large employee population, ensuring timely and accurate wage payments.
• Administer multi-state payroll activities in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, review, and maintain payroll data for regular processing cycles.
• Audit payroll records, earnings, deductions, and tax information to identify and resolve discrepancies before final submission.
• Support payroll for employee populations exceeding 500 workers while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
• Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and internal partners with clear and timely communication.
• Maintain payroll documentation and records to support reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in payroll administration.
• Hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing.
• Proven ability to process payroll across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience supporting payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.

Compensation

$35.00-$38.00 Hourly
