Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join a growing organization in Garden City, New York. This role will support the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records through hands-on accounting work and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge and can manage close activities, reconciliations, and statement preparation with a high degree of precision.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with established accounting practices.
• Lead key activities related to the month-end and pre-trial close process to ensure timely and complete reporting.
• Record and review journal entries that reflect daily and periodic financial activity.
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to confirm balances are properly stated.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate variances between bank activity and internal records.
• Assist in improving accounting workflows and support process updates as needed within the finance function.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for close and reporting activities.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger accounting.
• Experience preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations with accuracy.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and identify issues requiring follow-up.
• Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and supporting documentation.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$95,000.00 Yearly
