Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing financial entries, supporting schedules, and related account analysis.
• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger through timely posting, investigation of discrepancies, and resolution of variances.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready.
• Perform bank account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to keep cash records current.
• Review payroll-related accounting activity and reconcile payroll balances to financial records.
• Process journal entries with appropriate backup and ensure transactions are recorded in the correct periods.
• Utilize Workday ERP to manage accounting data, research issues, and support routine financial reporting needs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify account activity, improve accuracy, and meet reporting deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with strong ownership of month-end close responsibilities.• Hands-on knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and identifying variances across multiple accounts.
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and reconciling payroll transactions to supporting records.
• Working knowledge of Workday ERP, including navigation and transaction review within the system.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain precise financial records.
• Ability to manage deadlines effectively in a contract assignment within a fast-moving business environment.
