Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting operations across payables, receivables, general ledger activity, and routine financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, and maintain the accuracy of month-end records.
• Track grant-related transactions and apply allocation methodologies to ensure expenses are assigned correctly across funding sources.
• Support nonprofit accounting processes by maintaining documentation and helping uphold reporting and compliance standards tied to restricted funds.
• Use Blackbaud Financial Edge and Excel to analyze financial data, organize records, and produce reliable accounting support schedules.
• Assist with account reviews, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve financial accuracy and timeliness.
• Contribute to periodic closing activities and help prepare information needed for internal reporting and audit support.
• Work onsite five days per week and provide consistent hands-on support for the organization’s accounting function.
Qualifications:
• Detail-oriented accounting experience in a role involving general ledger ownership and transactional accounting responsibilities.• Background in nonprofit accounting, including work with grants, restricted funding, or cost allocations.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Blackbaud Financial Edge and strong Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and record management.
• Ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an onsite team setting.
