Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to support core financial operations for an organization based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to day-to-day accounting activities while helping maintain accurate records, timely reporting, and strong financial controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing both transactional accounting and month-end responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and help ensure accounts payable activities are completed on schedule.
• Manage customer billing and cash application tasks while maintaining accurate accounts receivable records and resolving routine discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial data current and aligned with established accounting practices.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances to support accurate cash reporting.
• Maintain and review general ledger activity to help ensure balances are complete, supported, and properly classified.
• Assist with month-end and periodic close activities by organizing documentation and supporting account analysis.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to answer accounting-related questions and provide financial record support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in an accounting role with hands-on responsibility for daily financial transactions.
• Practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
• Ability to prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching outstanding items or discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial tracking and reporting.

Compensation

$31.00-$34.00 Hourly
