Audit Specialist
We are looking for an experienced Audit Specialist to support banking-related audit activities. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for an individual who can evaluate controls, assess documentation, and contribute to thorough audit execution. The role requires strong analytical judgment and the ability to manage multiple reviews while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Control Testing on 2nd LoD (Credit Risk Management ) for Commercial Real Estate
- Audit expertise required / SME in Credit Risk Management (with exposure to Commercial Real Estate preferred)
• Select and review samples to verify transaction accuracy, documentation quality, and control effectiveness.
• Lead walkthrough sessions with business stakeholders to understand workflows, identify risks, and confirm process design.
• Perform issue validation by assessing corrective actions and determining whether identified concerns have been fully addressed.
• Document audit procedures, observations, and conclusions in a clear and organized manner for review by audit leadership.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather records, clarify exceptions, and support timely completion of audit activities.
• Use available research and case management tools to track findings, maintain audit support files, and monitor open items.
• Manage schedules and competing priorities effectively to ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of audit experience, with a strong background supporting banking or financial services environments.• Demonstrated experience performing testing, sampling, walkthroughs, and issue validation within an audit framework.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and audit documentation standards.
• Proficiency with tools such as LexisNexis, case management software, and management systems used for tracking audit activity.
• Experience handling complaints or case-related matters in a regulated or highly controlled setting is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and track multiple assignments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and professionally.
Compensation
