šŸš€ Key Responsibilities

šŸ”¹ Leadership & Strategy

  • Present financial updates to Board & committees
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, policy, and planning
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies, controls, and procedures
  • Serve as liaison with government and external stakeholders
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance
  • Provide guidance on budget management and financial performance
  • Strengthen internal controls across AP, payroll, procurement, and assets

šŸ”¹ Financial Management

  • Lead annual budget, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Oversee contracts, procurement, and financial reporting
  • Evaluate operations for efficiency and cost improvements
  • Provide financial analysis on investments, pricing, and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Manage grants and FEMA processes
  • Monitor economic trends (e.g., Hotel Occupancy Tax impacts)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance management
  • Drive succession planning and continuous improvement
  • Align team with departmental goals and organizational mission

Qualifications:

āœ… Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting/Business and 5+ years leadership (government or nonprofit)
  • Strong communication & public presentation skills
  • High emotional intelligence and team leadership ability
  • Proficiency in accounting/payroll systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information

⭐ Preferred

  • Master’s in Accounting/Business
  • CPA
