Portal Engineering Lead
Responsibilities:
• Guide the technical design and hands-on development of portal applications, building backend services and APIs with C# and .NET while shaping modern user interfaces with Angular or React.
• Convert business goals into well-defined technical plans, including user stories, solution designs, delivery estimates, and risk mitigation approaches.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up prototyping, coding, refactoring, and test creation while confirming accuracy, security, and long-term maintainability.
• Establish strong engineering practices through code reviews, branching standards, documentation, and clear quality expectations for completed work.
• Work closely with quality engineering partners to define coverage goals and deliver automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including validation of accessibility standards at WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts by refining application performance, modernizing legacy components, and reducing technical debt in partnership with architecture stakeholders.
• Oversee deployment and release execution for Azure-hosted portal enhancements using GitHub-based source control and CI/CD workflows, ensuring dependable delivery from development through production.
• Coordinate production support activities by investigating incidents, driving root-cause resolution, improving observability with logging and telemetry, and maintaining runbooks and post-incident follow-up actions.
• Provide technical leadership to a distributed engineering team by mentoring developers, organizing work, supporting Scrum activities, and aligning delivery with product and architectural objectives.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of software development experience, including technical leadership on enterprise-scale web applications.• Strong expertise in C# and .NET, including API development, web application frameworks, dependency injection, security practices, and integration patterns.
• Solid frontend development experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and frameworks such as React and/or Angular.
• Hands-on experience building responsive, component-based user interfaces with a strong understanding of accessibility expectations, including WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
• Proven ability to work with CI/CD pipelines, source control workflows, automated testing practices, and cloud-hosted application delivery.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-enabled engineering tools to improve development speed while applying sound validation and engineering judgment.
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with product, architecture, testing, operations, and security teams in an Agile delivery environment.
Compensation
