Payroll Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end payroll for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees, ensuring wages are calculated correctly and paid on schedule.
• Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to verify payroll data before final submission.
• Administer wage garnishments and other withholdings in accordance with applicable laws, court orders, and company policies.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Respond to employee questions related to pay, deductions, tax withholdings, and payroll discrepancies in a clear and helpful manner.
• Use Excel formulas and spreadsheet tools to reconcile payroll data, prepare reports, and identify variances.
• Coordinate with internal departments to gather updated employee information affecting pay, such as status changes or benefit deductions.
• Assist with payroll audits, compliance checks, and reporting requirements to support accurate recordkeeping and regulatory adherence.
Qualifications:
• Experience processing full-cycle payroll for an employee population of 101 to 500 individuals.• Working knowledge of payroll garnishments, deductions, and related compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel formulas for data review, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive payroll information confidentially.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and resolve payroll errors efficiently.
• Solid understanding of payroll procedures, documentation standards, and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees and internal teams.
Compensation
