Payroll Administrator
Responsibilities:
• Manage the timely review and completion of timesheet entries so payroll can be finalized by established weekly deadlines.
• Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees using company systems, verifying hours worked and confirming totals align with submitted time records.
• Prepare recurring payroll-related reports for internal use and external reporting needs, including scheduled monthly union documentation.
• Investigate payroll-related questions, determine when adjustments are necessary, and coordinate corrections as needed.
• Detect inconsistencies in payroll data, resolve routine issues independently, and escalate more complex matters to payroll leadership.
• Provide responsive support to internal teams and external contacts regarding payroll, timekeeping, and expense-related inquiries.
• Develop productive working relationships with personnel across multiple jobsites while assisting with analysis tied to labor hours and expense records.
• Safeguard employee records and payroll information in accordance with privacy regulations and company confidentiality expectations.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of payroll experience, preferably including full-cycle payroll processing.• Experience handling payroll for employee populations ranging from 101 to 500 employees.
• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and wage and hour requirements.
• Familiarity with union payroll; exposure to certified payroll is beneficial.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to sort, summarize, average, and review data accurately.
• Strong critical thinking, organization, and prioritization skills with a high level of accuracy in calculations and data review.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for addressing payroll questions and resolving discrepancies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with Sage 300 and Ceridian Dayforce is a plus.
