Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support a manufacturing organization in Fresno, California. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a proven ability to drive production efficiency, improve operational processes, and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing production operations, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are consistently achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
- Lead, coach, and support production leads and manufacturing personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and workflow to maximize productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Monitor production output, labor utilization, scheduling, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational goals.
- Review work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly.
- Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory, and Materials teams to resolve production issues, support engineering changes, and ensure material availability.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste.
- Conduct production floor audits to ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor products through fabrication, assembly, testing, and final completion to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery.
- Train, mentor, and develop production staff while supporting onboarding, performance management, coaching, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring efforts while collaborating with Human Resources on employee development and corrective action processes.
- Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and operational performance metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, manufacturing efficiency, and overall plant performance.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing production operations within a manufacturing setting.
- Experience leading production leads, supervisors, or manufacturing teams preferred.
- Experience in fabrication, welding, assembly, heavy equipment, truck equipment manufacturing, or other industrial manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, workforce allocation, and workflow coordination.
- Proven experience driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, develop, and hold employees accountable for performance.
- Demonstrated success leading through front-line supervisors or production leads.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, workflow management, and resource allocation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
- Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, testing, and other industrial manufacturing processes.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of production metrics, labor utilization, productivity measurement, and key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
- Proven ability to identify operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
