Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Mansfield, TX 76063, US Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations for a growing transportation company in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal processes, and supporting audit and treasury activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day accounting activities across accounts receivable, the general ledger, and fixed asset records to ensure accurate and timely processing.

• Prepare detailed journal entries and higher-level accounting adjustments for leadership review and financial close support.

• Produce and evaluate financial reports, identifying discrepancies and confirming the completeness and reliability of monthly and periodic results.

• Review balance sheet and other account reconciliations, resolving issues promptly and maintaining strong documentation standards.

• Support cash management activities by assisting with wire processing and related treasury operations.

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders during annual financial audits and provide documentation for additional audit requests as needed.

• Examine existing accounting workflows and recommend practical improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.

• Handle special analyses and project-based assignments requested by finance leadership to support business decisions.

• Supervise and develop accounting staff through goal setting, coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing skill development.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field. Must be a CPA or actively testing. Public Accounting experience preferred.

• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility for supervising or leading team members.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

• Demonstrated accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple levels of an organization and with external partners.

• Proven leadership ability with experience supporting employee development, performance management, and team engagement.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize large amounts of information and develop practical solutions.
