Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support core financial operations for a contract opportunity in Pella, Iowa. This role will oversee general ledger activity, maintain the accuracy of journal entries and reconciliations, and help keep daily cash activity and banking tasks on track. The position also contributes to month-end close, supports grant-related reimbursement tracking, and strengthens financial documentation through clear policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day general ledger activity and prepare accurate journal entries to ensure reliable financial records.

• Review cash balances each day and monitor available funds to support sound financial decision-making.

• Complete daily banking activities, including routine bank runs and related transaction follow-up.

• Lead month-end close tasks by coordinating account analysis, balance verification, and timely completion of reconciliations.

• Reconcile key accounts regularly to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain financial accuracy.

• Oversee grant-related financial activity by tracking eligible reimbursements and helping optimize indirect cost recovery.

• Assist in developing and organizing accounting policies and procedures to improve consistency and compliance.

• Support audit readiness by maintaining complete documentation and responding to financial statement audit requests as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience managing general ledger processes in an accounting leadership or senior accounting role.
• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliation responsibilities.
• Familiarity with daily cash position monitoring and routine banking activities.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Knowledge of grant accounting, including reimbursement tracking and indirect cost recovery, is preferred.
• Ability to document procedures clearly and work effectively within established accounting controls.

Compensation

$39.59-$45.84 Hourly
