Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Tonawanda, New York. This role supports core accounting operations by helping maintain accurate financial records, contributing to forecasting activities, and assisting with period-end reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to financial accuracy, internal controls, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
• Track and review cash flow activity to help ensure timely and accurate reporting across the business unit.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by preparing supporting analysis and identifying key financial trends.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing reconciliations and helping maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare daily and weekly journal entries and verify that transactions are recorded properly in the general ledger.
• Support the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reports, highlighting variances and notable performance drivers.
• Help uphold strong accounting standards, internal policies, and site-level compliance expectations in day-to-day work.
• Maintain and refine internal control documentation, including narratives and related support materials, to strengthen risk awareness and asset protection.
• Provide timely support during the annual audit by organizing requested schedules, documentation, and other financial information.
• Analyze financial results to identify discrepancies, uncover improvement opportunities, and resolve issues with urgency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a role involving general ledger activity and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and the ability to investigate and resolve variances.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, confidentiality standards, and sound accounting practices.
• Ability to interpret financial data, recognize trends, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for analysis, reporting, and documentation.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
