Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities for several retail and distribution business entities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and develop supporting schedules that strengthen the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Complete bank account reconciliations, validate cash activity, and handle intercompany transactions with close attention to detail.
• Contribute to monthly and annual closing cycles by organizing account analyses, resolving variances, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Track fixed assets and maintain schedules for depreciation, amortization, and lease-related accounting entries.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, audit support materials, and documentation that supports accounting records and controls.
• Work closely with operations, treasury, and finance partners to improve expense classification and maintain reliable financial data.
• Promote consistent accounting practices and reinforce internal controls across multiple entities and locations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.• At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a mid-sized or multi-entity environment.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Familiarity with accounting for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidated reporting support, is preferred.
• Background in retail, distribution, logistics, or other operationally focused industries is strongly valued.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP Business One or similar platforms is preferred.
• Knowledge of bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, lease schedules, and financial reporting support is required.
Compensation
