Senior Property Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day general ledger activity for an assigned group of multi-family and commercial properties, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Lead the month-end close cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and review of financial results.
• Prepare and maintain property-level financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting needs.
• Analyze account activity to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and maintain the integrity of financial data across the portfolio.
• Coordinate with property management and operational teams to gather financial information, clarify activity, and support budget-to-actual reviews.
• Ensure accounting records comply with established policies, reporting standards, and property-specific requirements.
• Support audits and other reporting requests by organizing documentation and responding to financial inquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in property accounting, preferably supporting multi-family and commercial real estate portfolios.• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accrual-based accounting, and month-end close procedures.
• Hands-on experience using Yardi software in a property accounting environment.
• Ability to prepare reconciliations, investigate variances, and produce accurate financial reports.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and controls related to real estate operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines effectively.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Compensation
