Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting an accounting cleanup project by ensuring accurate and efficient handling of financial records. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers and a commitment to precision. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research within Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to identify closed items and reconcile outstanding balances.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and ensure the accurate cleanup of financial records.

• Perform bank reconciliations to verify and align financial data.

• Utilize QuickBooks to manage and update accounting information effectively.

• Code invoices accurately and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

• Identify discrepancies in financial records and propose corrective actions.

• Maintain clear and organized financial documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.

• Provide regular updates on project progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong skills in performing detailed bank reconciliations.
• Ability to code invoices with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
