Position Summary

The Career Placement Coordinator is responsible for leading employer engagement and job placement activities for participants in the Advanced Manufacturing Mobility Hub, a grant-funded workforce initiative that includes non-credit training pathways in CNC Machining, Electro-Mechanical Technology(EMT), Welding, Naval Welding, and Nondestructive Testing(NDT).These programs align with High Priority Occupations and industry-recognized credential pathways that support entry into the regional advanced manufacturing workforce.

The position supports the program by coordinating interviews, employer site visits, onboarding activities, and placement outcomes for program completers. TheCoordinatorserves as the primary liaison between employer partners and students, ensuring that participants successfully transition from training into employment aligned with regional workforce needs.

This role is critical to advancing the Hub’s outcomes by strengthening employer partnerships,facilitatinghiring pipelines, and ensuring the successful conversion of program completers into employed workers in advanced manufacturing careers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employer engagement activities for the Advanced Manufacturing Mobility Hub, including:
    • Employer site visits
    • Mock interviews
    • Hiring events and information sessions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between employer partners and program participants.
  • Organize andfacilitateinterviews between Mobility Hub completers and employer partners.
  • Support job placement and hiring processes, including:
    • Candidate referrals
    • Interview coordination
    • Employment onboarding support
  • Maintain and expand employer partnerships aligned to the Advanced Manufacturing Mobility Hub, including regional manufacturers and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align Mobility Hub training outcomes with employer hiring needs and expectations.
  • Track and report employment outcomes for Mobility Hub participants, including:
    • Interview rates
    • Job placement
    • Starting wages and retention indicators
  • Support employer participation in Mobility Hub activities such as:
    • Site demonstrations
    • Career exposure opportunities
    • Program advisory input
  • Provide targeted career readiness support to program completers as needed tofacilitatesuccessful job placement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Career Connections, Workforce Development, Marketing, City College for Municipal Employment) to support end-to-end program delivery from recruitment through placement.
  • Ensureaccuratedocumentation of employer engagement and placement activities to support grant reporting, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Advanced Manufacturing Mobility Hub deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience inone or more of the following areas:
    • Employer engagement
    • Job placement
    • Career services
    • Workforce development or related field
  • Experience working with employer partnerships and recruitment/hiring processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate external partnerships
  • Experience tracking outcomes and using data systems or CRM tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse and non-traditional student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting grant-funded workforce programs or talent pipeline initiatives
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing, technical training, or industry-aligned workforce programs
  • Experience coordinating internships, externships, or apprenticeship pipelines
  • Familiarity with regional workforce systems and employer networks
  • Experience in higher education or non-credit workforce development
  • Knowledge of labor market trends and hiring needs in skilled trades or industrial sectors
