Part-Time Instructor in French Program, Department of French & Italian
The French Program of the Department of French & Italian at the University of Pittsburgh seeks an instructor for a section of FR 0070, Kings and Queens: From Vikings to the Guillotine, a 3 cr. course that meets twice weekly. “Kings and Queens” is one of our large-enrollment (50 students) courses, taught in English, in the General Education program of the Dietrich School. The successful candidate will need to have in hand, at the time of the hire, an MA in French Studies and experience in teaching or supporting similar courses (a survey of monarchical cultures in France and the French-speaking world) in the American post-secondary system.
The appointment is for the fall semester, August 15, 2026, through December 15, 2026. Note that fall semester classes start on August 24, 2026. All classes will be taught in person.
