Position Title: Senior Scheduler
About the Position
Were seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to support large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit (both rail and bus), international airports, and water/wastewater projects delivered through both traditional and alternative delivery methods. Your primary focus will be developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules that support the successful delivery of a major rail systems modernization program.
This is a long-term, full-time, hybrid position located in San Francisco, CA. Team members are expected to work from the project office approximately three days per week.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
- Build and manage baseline schedules that accurately reflect engineering, procurement, construction, systems integration, testing, commissioning, and project milestones.
- Analyze schedule performance, critical path activities, float consumption, schedule risks, and forecasted completion dates.
- Coordinate schedule development and monthly updates with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
- Review contractor schedules for compliance with project requirements, schedule logic, sequencing, durations, and milestone commitments.
- Evaluate schedule impacts resulting from scope changes, delays, recovery plans, and time impact analyses.
- Prepare schedule reports, milestone updates, look-ahead schedules, and executive-level schedule presentations.
- Collaborate with project controls, cost management, risk management, and change management teams to support integrated program controls.
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule analysis and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
- Maintain scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices while ensuring schedule quality and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience developing and managing CPM schedules for large infrastructure, transportation, rail, transit, or heavy civil construction programs.
- Expert-level proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, including development and maintenance of complex CPM schedules, critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience supporting major capital infrastructure projects throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, testing, and project closeout.
- Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling principles, schedule logic, baseline management, resource loading, progress measurement, and schedule risk analysis.
- Experience reviewing contractor schedules, evaluating schedule performance, and analyzing schedule impacts, delays, and recovery plans.
- Experience coordinating with owners, contractors, designers, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in engineering, construction management, or project management.
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience supporting communications-based train control (CBTC), train control systems, rail systems, signaling, or systems integration projects.
- Experience supporting owners representative, program management, construction management, public agency, or heavy civil contractor organizations.
- Experience supporting infrastructure programs valued at $100M or greater.
- Experience developing dashboards and schedule reporting using Microsoft Power BI.
Compensation Details
Expected Salary: $166k-$187k/year ($80-$90/hour). Luster provides the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might offer for this position based on the successful candidates level of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certifications, licenses, geographic location, etc. Luster reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range depending on circumstances not related to any status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
