Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager provides leadership for multiple construction and facilities projects performed under federal contracts. This position oversees project teams, mentors Project Managers, manages customer relationships, and ensures successful execution of complex projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who demonstrates sound judgment, remains calm under pressure, effectively resolves challenges, and fosters a collaborative team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead multiple construction and facilities projects simultaneously.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
- Oversee estimating activities and project financial performance.
- Manage customer relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Review project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Support contract administration, negotiations, and project planning.
- Monitor project performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on operational planning and resource allocation.
- Support proposal development and business growth initiatives.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with other duties as needed or assigned to ensure project and team success.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience managing construction, facilities, engineering, or related projects, including project estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration required.
- Experience with military installations or federal agencies preferred.
- Experience with government construction contracts, such as firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, and task order-based contract vehicles (ex: IDIQ, JOC, SATOC, MATOC, etc.) preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using project management, estimating, scheduling, document management, and other construction-related software.
- Valid driver's license.
- First Aid/CPR Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- OSHA 30 Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Quality Control, Project Management, or other construction-related certifications considered as asset.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required contract and site access credentials.

Working Environment
The duties of this position require job performance in indoor and outdoor settings, which includes office work as well as frequent visits to active construction sites, which may be indoors or outdoors. Performance of essential job duties may involve exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction equipment or materials, noise, duty, and other job-related hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and appropriate safety gear is required on all active job sites. Travel between job sites may be required.
Physical Requirement
The physical abilities and demands required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to sit, stand, knee, bend, walk, climb, and otherwise navigate active construction areas safely.
- Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move materials or equipment, regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hands to operate computers, phones, and other office or field equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders and conduct site walkthroughs in unfinished or outdoor areas.
- Visual acuity to read drawings, perform inspections, and review detailed documentation.
- Ability to use verbal and written/electronic communication for daily tasks and communication.
