Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Structures Mechanic 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role will be located on site in St. Augustine, Florida.

This position is for 3/12 shift, Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Essential Functions:

  • Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
  • Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
  • Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
  • Measures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
  • May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure
  • Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
  • Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
  • Have enough experience and skills to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining
  • Require minimum oversight and guidance
  • Ability to train and give some level of oversight to less experienced mechanics

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of structures mechanic experience.
  • Ability to follow written, electronic, and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other safety gear.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of E-2 structures experience
  • E-2 Fuselage structures experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $62,700.00 - $104,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
