  • Experience in academic or teaching environments, preferably with internal medicine or family medicine residents and medical students
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications or scholarly presentations in dermatology and/or dermatopathology
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across specialties and participate in multidisciplinary care

Job Summary
The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Dermatologist to join the Division of Dermatology. The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in dermatology and training with certifications to preform MOHS procedures. Also have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, dermatopathology, medical education, and scholarly activity. This position includes opportunities for clinical practice, teaching medical students and residents, and participating in research and academic endeavors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of academic dermatology at one of the Commonwealth’s leading academic health centers, with access to NIH-supported infrastructure, multidisciplinary partners, and patients from varied backgrounds.

About the Department of Internal Medicine
The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest in the College of Medicine and at the University of Kentucky with approximately 334 faculty, 157 staff, 214 residents and fellows, and 203 advanced practice providers. The department has 14 clinical divisions and 2 non-clinical divisions within its scope. The department of internal medicine is led by Dr. Darwin L. Conwell, MD, MS, FACG and departmental leaders including Vice Chairs, Associate Vice Chairs, and the Office of the Chair Administration team.

Internal Medicine faculty secure over $35 million in grant funding annually to pursue cutting-edge research and discoveries, supporting projects in all internal medicine subspecialties. The department has published 287 peer-reviewed articles in the past year and maintains more than 50 active clinical trials and 240 active grants and contracts. The Department of Internal Medicine has 211 faculty who are actively involved in research activities and supervise biomedical learners, including PhD and master’s students, to gain in-depth experience in high-impact research labs.
