What you will do:
Technical Leadership:
- Serve as the organizations senior technical expert for Tollway engineering, operations, and safety across complex and highprofile projects.
- Lead the development, review, and validation of highlevel Tollway engineering analyses, models, designs, and safety evaluations.
- Offer strategic consulting and advisory services to clients on policy, design alternatives, program direction, and investment decisions (billable work).
- Support agency partnersincluding DOTs, cities, counties, MPOs, and Tollway authoritiesby advising on operational strategies, technical standards, and implementation pathways.
- Lead technical contributions to major pursuits, proposals, interviews, and longterm client strategy planning.
- Serve as a key technical advisor during stakeholder, agency, and public engagement, helping articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Develop innovative methodologies, technical standards, and tools to advance the firms Tollway engineering practice.
- Mentor and coach project managers, engineers, and analysts, supporting growth of technical expertise across the organization (without direct supervisory responsibility).
- Perform highlevel QA/QC on deliverables, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with industry standards.
- Represent the firm through conference presentations, committee leadership, research contributions, and participation in national or regional technical panels.
- Monitor emerging industry trends and regulatory changes, providing proactive guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Coordinate with and leverage WSBs unique Digital Construction Management (DCM) team and offerings for civil contractors to win work with tollway owners and partners.
Client Management:
- Owns client portfolios and is accountable for client growth, retention, and overall performance.
- Help WSB with the best path to contracting and work for each client
- Drives business development strategy, including expansion of existing clients and acquisition of new clients.
- Builds and maintains senior-level client relationships and external networks that generate opportunities.
- Leads major pursuits and positions the firm to win high-impact work.
- Represents WSB in industry groups, boards, and community organizations to enhance market presence.
- Uses AI and digital tools to elevate the quality and speed of our client insights, ensuring clients feel confident that technology enhances expertise but doesnt replace it.
- Uses Salesforce analytics for forecasting pipelines, backlog and account planning 7-18 month outlook.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience related to profession.
- Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
- May be required to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, up to five days per week, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
- Travel or field visits may be required to support project needs or stakeholder collaboration.
- Travel may be required.
