HR Support Specialist II

Position Description

TTUHSC Division of Human Resources, HR Systems and Strategic Operations, is seeking a detail-oriented HR Support Specialist to join our dynamic team of HR professionals. The key responsibility for this role is the accurate processing of time-sensitive employment records.

The ideal candidate must be able to multitask effectively with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Serves as HR SSO approver and applier for personnel records (ePAF process) and ensures payroll schedules are met for maximum efficiency.
  • Researches issues based on knowledge of TTUHSC and state of Texas policy and procedure.
  • Resolves HSC payroll errors for each payroll period, assigns actions as needed, and follows up with payroll and affected functional staff.
  • Assists with streamlining HR business processes for HSC HR SSO - Benefits/Records.
  • Assist with HRIS comptroller's office reporting and correction of errors.
  • Review Kenexa, ePrint, HRIS, and Cognos reports to ensure employee records are complete for all new hires. Participates in auditing incomplete records. Resolves HRIS data discrepancies identified on recurring or one-time COGNOS edits.
  • Processes initial W-4 elections and IRS lock-in letters.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree plus one (1) years of experience OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and high-volume electronic employee record keeping.
  • Experience in State of Texas reporting and compliance.
  • Experience with Banner and Cognos systems.
