Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Tech level 3 to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the safe execution of tasks required in support of research and development and production for commercial, military and classified programs as the demand requires
  • Maintain inventory (tooling, equipment, NEI material, direct materials)
  • Use of machinery with proper PPE
  • Material preparation (storage, thawing, cutting, inventory, traceability, etc.)
  • Preparation of various samples
  • Perform SMI fundamentals
  • Trimming composites
  • Execute work orders / Project assignments
  • Track individual metrics, maintain notebook, capture lessons learned and undocumented process details
  • Take part in process improvements
  • Take part in cost improvement initiatives


Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 4 years of composites, aerospace, machining, or manufacturing experience
  • Able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance per company and business needs
  • Able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per company and business needs
  • Experience with to communicate concepts, ideas and procedural steps to others in a clear, concise and effective manner
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience must have Hands-on / Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work unconventional shifts occasionally to complete assignments
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time to help out other locations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least four years of machining experience with any of the below
  • Up to 5-axis CNC’s, manual Mills & Lathes, and Standard shop equipment.
  • Familiar with machine shop environment
  • Experience with Siemens and Fanuc controller software

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
