Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager 2 - Liaison Engineering to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA. This is a 4/10 (Monday-Thursday) 1st Shift position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • This position is for the Section Manager (SM) of Liaison Engineering for PAICoE Advanced Programs, reporting to the Vehicle Engineering Liaison Engineering Department Manager, Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence. 

  • The SM will lead a team of Liaison Engineers responsible for the dispositions of nonconforming metallic and composite parts and assemblies.  

  • For functional tasking, approximately 15% of the SM’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions.

  • Supporting the VE Liaison Engineering Department Manager on the NGAS Liaison Engineering Community of Practice will be expected.

  • SM is expected to be thoroughly versed, and preferably a Subject Matter Expert (SME), for the Liaison Engineering discipline and the MRB process.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience

  • Experience in a technical leadership/management roles

  • Material Review Board (MRB) Authority.

  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Civil Engineering

  • MES experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in staffing forecasting.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership and management experience

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the customer and program management.

  • Experience with TeamCenter and NX, Visualization Professional, or other CAD program

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
