This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
Plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation.

This position reports to the GSC Sector Logistics Manager for the Aeronautics Systems Sector and will be responsible for Domestic operations in support of all programs and sites across the sector, such as oversight of planning, scheduling and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Additionally, working with an organization which oversees scheduling with carriers, reconciling freight bills, preparing and negotiating claims, and selection or recommendations of carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. They will conduct research on transportation methods, rates, and routes, help develop programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and conduct evaluations of past performance and cost of transportation for the Sector, with a focus on sustaining and improving affordability, operational efficiency and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Candidate responsible for activities and knowledge within multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain organization, exhibiting end-to-end supply chain competence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Accountable for domestic and international traffic operations on site, acting as the escalation path to address issues in program execution related to the GM&L Traffic operations on site, ensuring mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any risks related to GM&L’s execution
Prepare and tender SOFO-10 for multiple programs and classified programs or other government forms
Submit DD250’S to WAWF, and tender shipment utilizing DTMS, ITMS, and FedEx online application. Print approved DD250 and pair with original to be shipped after they are signed off by DCMA.
Coordinate dedicated truck shipments as requested by various programs in addition to classified shipments
Responds to client needs by answering e-mails, calls, tracking and moving shipments
Monitors and ensure on-time pick-up and delivery
Support Shipping/Receiving with unloading/loading of small packages when needed
Provide support to import on uploading documents to the file repository
Research and Resolving customer or supplier issues
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service & problem-solving skills
Other duties as required and assigned by manager
Update training documents
Scan work to remote teammates
Print / match up documents for outbound shipments from remote employees
Obtain required system access for SOW
Staging and labeling small packages under 50lbs. on the shipping floor
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Project Management, Business Management, operations, or a Masters Degree with 3 years experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
Must have Supply Chain or Traffic or Shipping or Warehousing experience
Ability to obtain and maintain U.S Government Secret Clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs
Experience with the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as an accomplished problem-solver and change-agent whose unique mix of technical and business expertise lends itself to developing innovative Supply Chain strategies
Aerospace & Defense experience
Current U.S Government Secret Clearance
Current Hazardous material Certification (ie., IATA or HazMat Certification)
Knowledge understanding of logistic elements; supportability, inventory management and logistics support
Advanced experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
