Quality Control & Environmental/Safety & Health Manager

Facility Services, Inc. (FSI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Control & Environmental/Safety & Health Manager to support one of our strategic partners in delivering critical Base Operations Support Services at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Job Summary:

The QC/ES&H Manager ensures that the product or service we provide is fit for the intended purpose, is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. The QC/ES&H Manager has full authority and responsibility for assuring performance objectives and standards identified in the contract are met. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations. The QC/ES&H Manager coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards. The QC/ES&H Manager manages through inspections and evaluations of the processes in working areas to ensure compliance with contract PWS, government regulations, industry and ISO 9001 standards. Monitors and advises on the performance of the quality management system (QMS), produces data and reports on performance, measuring against set standards. The QC/ES&H Manager liaises with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, advises the Management Team on QMS changes and the implementation. Assists management with training to enable others to achieve quality objectives. Ensures the Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Monitors workplace activities to ensure the safety of employees, clients, and subcontractors on the jobsite. In addition, assures compliance with company policies and governmental environmental and safety regulations, and provides support for implementation of the Comprehensive Environmental Safety & Health Plan and Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Control

Responsible for administration of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Authority to act on behalf of the Contractor, and direct removal, rework, or replacement of defective materials or poor-quality workmanship.
Performs Inspections, Identifies Corrective and Preventive Actions, and performs Follow-up Activities.
Key contact with customers and responsible for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.
Prepares and Documents quality plans, policies, procedures and summaries, to include subcontract activities.
Plans and conducts internal audits.
Verifies Contractor furnished PM records, cards, tags, or logbooks are attached to or placed near each piece of equipment in a conspicuous location.
Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive quality and company proprietary information and promotes quality awareness.
Maintains the Subcontractor Performance Evaluation program coordination and documentation.
Performs duties of management representative to ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained.

Environmental/Safety & Health

  • Support mission of providing a safe and healthful workplace for employees.

  • Manage, implement, and enforce environmental, safety and health plan and programs.

  • Conduct and document weekly toolbox safety meetings with entire staff.

  • Manage Environmental, Health & Safety Training to ensure employees understand hazards associated with site conditions and activities and methods to mitigate those hazards.

  • Conduct environmental and safety inspections/audits and document deficiencies or unsafe acts on the appropriate form as determined by contract. Submit the findings to the Project Manager for correction. In emergency situations, has the authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.

  • Ensure that employees are compliant and wearing all required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for the specific work activity being performed.

  • Maintain awareness to current and updated federal standards and regulations. Inform employees of changes.
