General Clerk

Facility Services, Inc. (FSI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Clerk to support one of our strategic partners in delivering critical Base Operations Support Services at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Job Summary

The General Clerk performs clerical/office type duties. This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.

Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Will be engaged with sufficient education, training, and experience to perform clerical/office type duties. Responsible for supporting Work Control, answering phones and taking messages, maintaining personnel records, setting up and maintaining necessary files, operating the accounting software used by FSI, and other clerical duties as assigned and required.

Assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Will also have knowledge and general proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other required software that is used at the job site.
  • Experience in O&M to include clerical support for a workforce that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record
