About the Role
The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
This role is designed for technicians with developing to advanced skill levels who are capable of working independently while continuing to grow their expertise in diagnostics and complex repairs.
What You’ll Do
Diagnostics & Repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on diesel trucks
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and fuel systems
- Troubleshoot advanced systems including electrical and aftertreatment
Maintenance & Service
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services
- Complete repairs on brakes, suspension, HVAC, and related systems
- Inspect vehicles and identify repair needs
Electrical Systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical components and wiring
- Test and replace batteries, starters, alternators, and lighting systems
Shop Responsibilities
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Accurately document work performed and repairs completed
What You Bring
- 3 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Required tool set
Preferred Experience
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks or equipment
- Knowledge of diagnostic systems and tools
- Experience performing DOT inspections and preventative maintenance
Work Environment
This is a hands-on shop role that includes:
- Working with heavy equipment and mechanical systems
- Frequent standing, lifting 50+ pounds, and physical activity
- Exposure to noise, heat, and shop conditions
