Job Responsibilities:
This position REQUIRES Evening and Weekend shifts. The schedule would be as follows.
- Friday and Saturday are 12 Hour Shifts from 8 PM to 8 AM
- 2 Weekdays are 8-Hour Shifts from (12am to 8am, or 8am-4pm, or 4pm-12am) flexibility in choice, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
Your Main Objective:
- Provide network administration support for development, deployment, and problem identification and remediation of the enterprise network environment.
- Ensure maximum system uptime and rapidly respond to hardware and software failures.
- Monitor and correct network issues, maintain security patches, software and hardware.
- Provide analysis on existing network and server configurations and implement system enhancements and upgrades.
- Communicate with users and publish status of any system outages, as needed.
- Prepare technical reports and briefings to provide status to leadership.
- Examine system data and implement enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Support system installations and upgrades for networks and servers (hardware and software).
- Execute the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or similar, and eight (8) or more years of experience in a relevant field (Network Administration/Engineering) or a Master of Science degree with six (6) years or prior relevant experience.
- Experience in analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with Network Hardware Design and Configuration, Network Troubleshooting, and Network Performance Tuning.
- Experience with configuring, managing, and implementing network access control Lists.
- Experience with Cisco switching and WAN/LAN technologies
- Experience with VMWare NSX-T virtual networking.
- Possess strong analytic abilities and must be meticulous in their work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience providing direct assistance to users.
- A self-starter capable of working proficiently independently as well as within a team environment.
Security Clearance requirement:
- Possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance to be considered for this role.
Certification Requirement:
- IAT level II or level III certified (Security +, CCNA Security, CSA+, GIC SP, GSEC, SSCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mentoring or managing a team of engineers.
- Familiar with configuring network devices utilizing Python and Ansible.
- Experience with enterprise network management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Smartnet, Splunk, or similar technologies.
