Job Summary

Department: Human Resources
Location: University Hall, Suite 340, 51 Goodman Dr.
Hours: 24 hours per week: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Pay: $12.00/hour

The Central Human Resources Department located in University Hall is currently hiring friendly and motivated part-time Student Associates to support HR's mission and commitment to excellent service for our students, faculty, staff, and other customers. We are hiring for a set schedule (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm) and immediate start date. We will review and interview as we receive qualified applications. We are also prioritizing applications of those who are Work-Study eligible. While this is an hourly position with set daily tasks (not an internship or co-op), Front Desk Student Associates will receive valuable exposure in the field of Human Resources. This is a great opportunity for students with interest in HR to gain real world experience in a professional environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and prompt customer service for our Human Resources department by greeting all guests; answering and directing calls; providing basic information; and assisting HR Staff.
  • Process new hire I-9 documents.
  • Perform general clerical work including scanning documents, sorting mail, uploading documents, etc.
  • Open and/or close office.
  • May have the opportunity to collaborate on project work to assist other HR staff and departments.
  • Fulfill other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
    • "Enrollment" shall include:
    • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
    • The one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
  • Current UC student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership, Business, Psychology, Communication, or other related fields.
  • Commitment to proper attendance and timeliness.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous clerical and office experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • An interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Strong desire to learn about Human Resources.
