Job Description:
Assist in the supervision and administration of Harris health & safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Contributes to the desired safety and work culture of the organization.
Safety:
Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management/supervisory personnel
Assist in supervision and administration of safety/first aid and rescue squad activities. Assume total responsibility for safety operation when assigned to shift work
Participate in developing and conducting employee orientation training, task specific training, ongoing supervisor training and assist in developing/training project manager safety
Conduct a minimum of (4) site walks for work area surveillance inspections, air-sampling tests for confined space entry, property, damage and personal injury investigations
Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Issue confined area entry and hot work permits as required
Accompany safety, health and insurance inspections on walk through tours as required
Review, capture and assist in preparing written safety plans, Activity Hazard analysis, High Risk Activity schedules and Pre-Plans
Review safety related journals, catalogues, etc. to keep abreast of changes/improvements in protective safety equipment, materials and gear
Assist in preparing written appeals for safety violation citations
Assist in, preparing and reviewing, sign off acceptance of daily Pre-Task Plans for project work crews
Attend weekly safety committee meetings as assigned by the manager
Participate in and observe daily morning crew huddles and flex Stretch routine
Tool & PPE Coordination:
Review tools & PPE orders for shipment to job sites, restock is made available, defective tools are removed and reported
Assess equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected
Ensure all items are stored according to fieldwork procedures and company standards
What we're looking for in you
Associates degree required in Occupational Health and Safety, or related
Bachelors degree preferred in Occupational Health and Safety, or related
2+ years of construction/industrial occupational health and safety experience
2+ years of Microsoft Office experience
Proficient understanding of OSHA standards and guidelines
Comprehensive knowledge of workers compensation documentation
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Hold a valid OSHA 30-Hour Certification
OSHA 510 Certification strongly valued
Certified in First Aid & CPR required
NFPA 70E Awareness Training required
Demonstrated experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols preferred
Knowledge of Arc Flash hazards and safe work practices
Familiarity with Bloodborne Pathogens standards and proper safety procedures

Pay Range:
$65,392.51 - $98,088.76The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
