SAP Functional Consultant – Procure to Pay (PTP) / Materials Management (MM

VETS, Inc., is looking to add a SAP Functional Consultant – Procure to Pay (PTP) / Materials Management (MM) consultant to our growing team. This is a full time, permanent position with full benefits. Due to contractual requirements, this position requires US Citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance of the ability to obtain one.

Position Summary

The SAP Functional Consultant – Procure to Pay (PTP) / Materials Management (MM) supports the design, configuration, implementation, testing, and sustainment of SAP S/4HANA Procure-to-Pay business processes for the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). This position serves as a functional expert supporting procurement, purchasing, inventory management, vendor management, invoice verification, and materials planning while ensuring integration with financial, logistics, and supply chain operations across the enterprise.

The consultant partners with government stakeholders, business process owners, and technical teams to optimize procurement and supply chain processes supporting Department of Defense mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP S/4HANA Procure-to-Pay (PTP) and Materials Management (MM) functionality.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional designs, system configurations, and technical specifications.
• Support end-to-end procurement business processes including:
• Requisition Management
• Purchase Orders
• Source Determination
• Vendor Master Data
• Material Master Data
• Inventory Management
• Goods Receipt
• Invoice Verification
• Stock Transfers
• Physical Inventory
• Procurement Analytics and Reporting
• Configure purchasing organizations, purchasing groups, plants, storage locations, valuation areas, and account determination.
• Support procurement lifecycle activities from purchase requisition through payment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve procurement efficiency and supply chain operations.
• Develop Functional Design Documents (FDDs), business process documentation, configuration guides, and training materials.
• Prepare functional specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).
• Partner with ABAP developers to support custom enhancements and interface development.
• Perform unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
• Support data migration activities for vendor, material, purchasing, pricing, and inventory master data.
• Analyze production issues and provide Tier II/Tier III production support.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Assist with production deployments, release planning, and system stabilization.
• Support cybersecurity, audit, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of SAP functional experience supporting Procure-to-Pay and Materials Management.
• Experience implementing or supporting SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong understanding of:

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Department of Defense ERP modernization initiatives.
• Experience with SAP Activate implementation methodology.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM or SAP Solution Manager.
• Experience supporting large-scale logistics and supply chain modernization efforts.
• Active Secret clearance.

Desired Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Materials Management
• SAP S/4HANA Procurement Certification
• Agile Scrum Certification (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
• Security+ (preferred for DoD environments)

JTMS-Specific Experience

Preferred candidates will possess experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Procure-to-Pay and Materials Management capabilities within Department of Defense ERP modernization programs. Experience integrating procurement, inventory management, financial accounting, transportation, warehousing, and enterprise logistics functions in support of USTRANSCOM or other DoD mission environments is highly desired.
