About Seerist
Seerist is a high-growth, AI-native SaaS company operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence and threat, geopolitical, and risk intelligence. We help enterprise and government organizations anticipate disruption and act on global risk with speed and confidence. We sell across both enterprise and federal markets, and we're building the marketing engine to take us to our next stage of growth.
About the Role
We're hiring an AI-native, hands-on Chief Marketing Officer who has lived the SaaS growth journey. This is a player-coach role, not a pure leadership hire — we need a marketing leader who has done the hands-on work at a company with a growth profile similar to ours and can build a marketing engine from the ground up.
You've experienced the full arc of scaling a SaaS marketing function: building demand generation from scrappy to systematic, standing up product marketing, navigating the shift from founder-led sales to repeatable pipeline, and running enterprise and government motions at the same time.
Most importantly, you're AI-native. You don't just use AI tools — you think in workflows, agents, and automation as your default operating model for marketing.
Expect to operate in player-coach mode, building and holding a demand generation function accountable while you hire up.
What You'll Do
- Own full-funnel SaaS marketing strategy across product marketing, demand generation, PLG, and enterprise motions, tied directly to measurable pipeline growth.
- Build and operationalize AI across the marketing stack — content, segmentation, attribution, and automation — with a builder's mentality.
- Stand up demand generation and performance marketing: paid search and social, programmatic and ABM, lead scoring, nurture programs, and conversion optimization.
- Establish rigorous measurement: attribution modeling, incrementality testing, experimentation, and clear reporting cadences across the marketing org.
- Partner closely with product, sales, and customer success to align go-to-market and close pipeline leaks.
- Build marketing for both enterprise and federal motions, applying the right playbook, metrics, and timelines to each.
- Recruit, coach, and scale a high-performing, metrics-driven marketing team.
What We're Looking For
SaaS Growth Architect
- Demonstrated success building and executing full-funnel SaaS marketing strategies — product marketing, demand generation, PLG, and enterprise motions — that drove measurable pipeline expansion at a company in a similar size and growth rate to Seerist.
- Hands-on demand generation and performance marketing experience: paid search and paid social (keyword strategy, bid management, audience targeting, budget allocation), plus programmatic and ABM campaigns targeting key B2B SaaS accounts.
- Ability to own demand generation strategy end to end — lead scoring models, nurture programs, and conversion rate optimization across the full funnel.
- Knows how to evaluate and optimize these programs and build a demand gen function to hold accountable — comfortable in player-coach mode early, with a clear plan to hire up.
AI-Native Marketing Leadership
The ability to operationalize AI across the marketing stack — content, segmentation, attribution, automation — with a builder's mentality, not just a user's.
- Has personally built or directed the build of AI agents and workflows that replaced or augmented manual marketing processes — not just adopted vendor tools.
- Can articulate a technical architecture for AI-powered demand gen (e.g., enrichment pipelines, LLM-driven personalization, automated scoring and outreach sequencing).
- Understands prompt engineering, workflow orchestration, and API integration well enough to spec and evaluate agent builds — doesn't need to code, but is technical enough to distinguish what's possible from vaporware.
- Has a clear point of view on where AI eliminates headcount versus where it amplifies human judgment.
- Track record of shipping AI-powered marketing motions that produced measurable lift — not just experimenting with off-the-shelf tools.
- Can build custom AI agents for marketing operations: lead qualification bots, competitive intelligence monitors, content generation pipelines, and automated reporting dashboards.
Data-Driven Decision Maker
- MQLs, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and revenue are top priorities — not vanity metrics.
- Statistical and experimental mindset: designs tests, reads results correctly, and kills underperformers fast.
- Strong budget management skills, with experience making hard tradeoff decisions within constrained budgets — not just optimizing a handed-down allocation.
- Builds dashboards and reporting cadences that create transparency and accountability across the marketing org.
Technical & GTM Integrator
- Deep product marketing DNA: translates technical capabilities into compelling market narratives and sales enablement.
- Has operated the marketing-to-sales handoff at scale and knows where pipeline leaks happen.
- Comfortable in technical product discussions and can credibly engage with product and engineering leadership.
Dual-Motion Fluency: Enterprise + Federal
- Understands that PLG content marketing and 18-month federal procurement cycles are fundamentally different worlds.
- Can build marketing support for federal capture without overinvesting in low-probability pursuits.
- Government/federal marketing experience is a strong plus, not a hard requirement — what matters is the judgment not to force enterprise playbooks onto federal motions.
Executive Presence & Team Building
- Credible with customers, partners, and the board, and communicates complex ideas simply and powerfully.
- Represents the company confidently in high-stakes environments — investor meetings, customer negotiations, partner discussions.
- Track record of upgrading teams and attracting high-performance talent, building a metrics-driven culture, and knowing when to coach versus make hard talent decisions.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Based in the Greater Washington, DC Metro Area.
- In office at least 3 days per week.
- Remote Candidates acceptable, but must be willing to travel and work from office approximately every 3 weeks in addition to other travel requirements.
