Job Title: Mechanic Technician Advisor - Rental

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Shift: 1st

Starting Compensation Range: $33.32 - $41.89 per hour

What You Will Do:

  • Provide oversight and guidance to Rental Technicians on daily workloads and maintenance priorities to ensure technicians are tasked in a manner that meets factory and customer service standards
  • In absence of Service Supervisor - Rental, direct all activities in area
  • Monitor progress of jobs to keep on schedule and maintain orderly flow of work
  • Ensure service work is completed in order of priority
  • Assist supervisor in identifying training needs for area personnel and scheduling training classes
  • Perform regular maintenance and emergency troubleshooting repairs
  • Gather information from SIS, CAT, WTY, DBS as needed to help in diagnosis and repair and determine warranty coverage
  • Ensure Rental Technicians follow CAT diagnostic procedures and complete needed warranty reports
  • Assist less experienced Rental Technicians, as needed
  • Provide Rental Technicians with a positive role model through effective leadership and strong work ethics
  • Complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders
  • Review service reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Confer with management and supervisory personnel to resolve issues and complaints within work force
  • Check out rental equipment prior to shipment; check in rental equipment upon return
  • Open work order segments for additional repairs and notify Service Advisor - Rental
  • Assist Rental Technicians with servicing equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines, making timely repairs to meet customer demands and maintaining preventative maintenance records
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum five years’ experience with heavy construction equipment
  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and expert level troubleshooting skills; able to accurately diagnose and repair equipment
  • Occasional operation of heavy machinery
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees
  • Self-directed with ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software
  • Willingness to work shifts as needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer needs

              • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear

              • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
