This role is located on-site in Melbourne, FL.
Essential Functions:
Perform Aerodynamic analysis & design in support of development and production programs.
Perform aircraft design using aircraft sizing tools and developing design space.
Provide documentation of analysis results, generate and approve technical reports and CDRLs.
Support flight test activities such as planning, data telemetry room data monitoring, and pre/post flight briefings.
Reduce, review, analyze and correlate aerodynamic data acquired during flight tests and wind tunnel tests.
Prior experience required working within a Flight Sciences organization (Aircraft Configuration, Propulsion, Flying Qualities, Loads and Dynamics, Mass Properties) is recommended.
Be an advocate for new tool development on legacy programs.
Prior aerodynamic analysis & design experience in large category aircraft preferred.
Prior experience in wind tunnel test, test data analysis, simulation analysis, and/or flight demonstration & validation tests required.
Prior knowledge in bids and proposal/capture programs is recommended.
Familiarity with MIL-Spec aero performance requirements or similar preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
For Level 5: Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Active In-Scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
Supplier Management Team (SMT) experience.
Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
MATLAB experience required, prior FORTRAN experience a plus.
Proficient with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient at locating and examining technical data from Computer Aided Design
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others.
Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
Current active DoD Top Secret clearance (with background investigation completed within the last 5 years or under continuous evaluation)
Experience applying Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar analysis tools.
Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Experience writing/reviewing technical documents: CDRLS, SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, SDRL reviews, etc.
Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions, within cost and schedule constraints, across the various phases of the engineering lifecycle.
