Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a utilities and infrastructure organization in Lowell, Arkansas. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to manage essential financial activities, contribute to accurate reporting, and help maintain strong compliance across day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in general ledger work, tax-related accounting, and month-end processes, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Support the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and related schedules in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Administer sales tax processes, including reviewing transactions, calculating obligations, and assisting with filings.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities by compiling financial data and verifying supporting documentation.
• Partner with internal teams to gather accounting information, improve reporting accuracy, and support audit readiness.
• Review financial records for completeness and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
