About the Role

The Senior Consultant provides strategic healthcare consulting, project leadership, and operational expertise to governmental and commercial healthcare organizations. This role leads complex client engagements, provides financial and operational oversight, mentors consulting staff, and partners with executive leadership to develop innovative solutions that improve healthcare systems.

As a trusted advisor, you'll facilitate executive-level strategy discussions, guide organizational transformation initiatives, and help clients solve complex operational, technology, and business challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Lead complex healthcare consulting engagements from planning through successful implementation.
  • Serve as the primary advisor and project lead for clients, ensuring exceptional customer experience and project outcomes.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, recommendations, and strategic deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops, executive strategy sessions, and organizational planning meetings.
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in healthcare operations, technology, quality improvement, and organizational transformation.
  • Mentor and coach consultants while fostering professional growth across project teams.
  • Provide project-level financial oversight, including project budgets, forecasting, and resource management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve consulting methodologies, project delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Support business development activities through proposal strategy, client presentations, conference participation, and thought leadership.

We're looking for an experienced healthcare consultant who excels at leading organizations through change while building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience leading complex healthcare consulting engagements.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget while meeting organizational and client expectations.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring consulting professionals.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience facilitating executive workshops, strategic planning sessions, and consensus-building initiatives.
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to develop long-term client partnerships.
  • Passion for transforming healthcare through innovation, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of healthcare project management experience.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of healthcare consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex client engagements and managing project teams.
  • Advanced communication, leadership, facilitation, and project management skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • PMP, PgMP, CISM, CPHIMS, CPHIE, CPEHR, or other Health Information Technology certification.
  • Five (5)+ years leading Medicaid and other government healthcare consulting engagements.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Health Information Technology (HIT)
    • Data Analytics and Business Intelligence
    • Healthcare Interoperability
    • Large-scale System Procurement
    • IT System Implementation and Support
    • Operational Improvement and Process Redesign
    • Practice Transformation

Work Environment & Travel

This is a fully remote position requiring reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home workspace.

Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, executive workshops, strategic planning sessions, conferences, and other business-related activities.
