Part-Time Respiratory Therapist

For more than 40 years, we’ve developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We provide treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues and accident or sports-related head injuries.
We are searching for a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to work in our residential program in Richmond, VA. In collaboration with each client's Rehabilitation Case Manager (RCM), RN, and Physician, this therapist identifies, procures, and coordinates services and resources to implement the medical and respiratory rehabilitation plan.
- Timely identification of individuals in need of respiratory services or pulmonary intervention, providing direct care and interventions as required
- Trains and educates families, funders, employers, and significant others as needed to support
the respiratory treatment and discharge plan
Completes comprehensive respiratory assessments to determine a client's pulmonary strengths, challenges, prognosis, functional status, goals, and needs for specialized services and equipment related to admission
Ensures completion of all necessary medical documentation, including respiratory progress notes, changes to care records, device logs, and recording the date and length of each client contact in the tracking system
Education & Requirements:
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) is required, preferably with a bachelor's
degree in respiratory therapy or health sciences
A minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience; experience in the rehabilitation of chronically or catastrophically ill or injured patients (specifically those with complex pulmonary or neurological airway needs) is highly preferred
Demonstrated accountability and skills in analysis, problem-solving, clinical decision-making, and time management are required
Possession of a valid driver's license, insurance, and an acceptable driving record must be maintained at all times
