As the Public Safety Office Specialist, you'll serve as the UTA Police department's administrative hub and first point of contact, providing essential support that helps officers and staff focus on protecting people, property, and operations. As the Public Safety Office Specialist, you will:

  • Provides essential administrative and clerical support for the Public Safety Department and serves as the initial point of contact with the Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • High school diploma.
  • Associates Degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two years in an office setting providing administrative and clerical support. Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with a record management system (RMS) preferred.
  • This position requires a credit check.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Type at least 40 net words per minute.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; intermediate proficiency in Outlook.  Intermediate Excel proficiency preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a detailed comprehensive background investigation.
  • Second language skills preferred.
  • Experience in Law Enforcement or Court settings preferred.
  • Conflict resolution, Diplomacy, Interpersonal relationships, Communications
  • Time management and self-management
  • Use sensitivity and diplomacy to function effectively under difficult and/or stressful situations
  • Prioritize, make decisions, resolve conflicts, and achieve resolution

Pay Rate: $22.93 per hour or more, depending on experience
