At North Sky Communications, as a Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects as assigned. Typical tasks will range in size and complexity. This position will assist the Telecom Manager with various large-scale projects and tasks as needed. As a leader, you will mentor, support, and grow your team as they connect America.

While this position is based in Fremont California, travelling will be required  to support numerous projects throughout the region.

What you’ll do

The Supervisor is responsible for managing all construction-related activities while ensuring strict compliance with all local, state, and federal code and safety regulations (including Cal/OSHA standards).

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coach, counsel, and evaluate the performance of field staff.

  • Coordinate scheduling, assist dispatch with daily job routing, and ensure adequate staffing.

  • Identify problem areas in the department and communicate problems and potential solutions to the Project Manager.

  • Develop and implement procedures to better organize the team/department.

  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to technicians.

  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts.

  • Assist in warehousing and logistics support as needed to supplement the warehouse staff.

  • Establish, implement, and maintain operating standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

  • Track employee performance, tool/vehicle assignments, uniforms, and consumable items using spreadsheets and digital tools.

  • Perform hands-on quality control inspections to correct and coach any issues found in the field.

  • Interface directly with customers to resolve complaints and property damages resulting from construction/installation work.

  • Perform various field technician duties as needed, including carrying and climbing ladders, and lifting equipment when necessary.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a clean, acceptable driving record.

  • 1–2 years of experience as a foreman or supervisor in underground construction.

  • Extensive knowledge of the cable, utility, and telecommunications industry.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Flexibility with working hours, as nights, weekends, and on-call shifts will apply.

  • Ability to travel and work out of town  (all hotel, travel, and meal costs/per diems will be covered in accordance with CA expense reimbursement laws).

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening (conducted in compliance with California's Fair Chance Act and cannabis laws).

The wage range for Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground is $90,000.00  - $110,000.00.
