This is a position located onsite in Palmdale, CA supporting the 2nd shift operations Center of Excellence where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering / Tooling organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers. Plans detail operations from digital models, blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other design releases. Determines the need for tooling and makes recommendations for the design and planning of required tools. Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineering to create/maintain work instructions, visual aids and bill of material in digital environment. Ensures product requirement defined within released documents is correctly documented within work instructions and ERP system.
Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements. Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment OR Associates Degree and 2 years of planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience reading and interpreting 3D models and Engineering drawings/blueprints
Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership
Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong coatings and/or low observables background
Experience creating work instructions and visual aids
Experience creating procedures or process manuals
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
