Staff Accountant
Our client, a well-established and growing public accounting firm in Coeur d'Alene, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a long-term career in public accounting while gaining hands-on experience supporting a variety of local businesses.
In this role, you'll start by focusing on client bookkeeping, payroll, and general accounting services, with the opportunity to expand into tax preparation and tax planning as your experience grows. You'll work closely with experienced accountants and receive mentorship, training, and exposure to a broad range of accounting and tax functions.
What You'll Do:
Client Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage bookkeeping responsibilities for multiple clients across diverse industries
- Record and reconcile financial transactions
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accounts and post journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Support clients with day-to-day accounting needs
Payroll
- Process payroll for multiple clients
- Maintain payroll records and employee information
- Assist with payroll tax filings and compliance requirements
- Respond to client payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service
Tax Support & Professional Development
- Assist with gathering and organizing tax documentation
- Support tax return preparation during tax season
- Learn individual, corporate, partnership, and S-Corporation tax preparation
- Assist with basic tax research and planning projects
- Develop technical accounting and tax skills under the guidance of experienced professionals
BENEFITS OFFERED:
- SALARY RANGE: $55,000-$65,000
