The Role
The Sr. Director, Corporate Strategy is responsible for leading the key strategy projects that ensure Wella’s sustained market leadership and value creation. Reporting to the VP, Global Strategy & Insights, this individual will support the development of our enterprise strategy, manage the operationalization and delivery of said strategy, and lead select projects that support the execution of our consumer- and customer-centric growth agenda and future-facing business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Play a leading role in the Wella Company corporate strategic planning cycle, providing thought leadership, quantitative and qualitative analysis, recommendations, and material preparation for a range of stakeholders, including our investors and BOD
- Partner with VP & Wella Co. Leadership team to lead enterprise strategy development, translating external dynamics and internal strengths into strategic priorities & choices that drive long-term value
- Drive alignment between strategy & financial plans, ensuring key initiatives are reflected in investment & revenue drivers
- Manage governance, tracking, and act as an “early warning system” for strategic delivery
- Lead Board of Directors material development on a regular cadence
- Lead strategic projects that deliver value to global and regional business teams and improve our competitive advantages
- Lead cross-functional partners through project scoping, research, workshops and analysis to drive towards strategic recommendations
- Find growth and profitability opportunities through robust data analysis; communicate those opportunities to a range of stakeholders to drive action and insight
- Build communications/decks to create clarity across the organization; drive rigorous execution in-market
- Lead/support process for new capability builds as required
- Build functional Strategy excellence for Wella Co.
- Communicate strategies and concepts in ways that drive clarity, energy and inspiration across the organization
- Act with speed & urgency to enable timely strategic decisions for the company
- Propose & adopt best-in-class frameworks, governance tools and project approaches
- Hire and lead a small team of strategy professionals
Qualifications
- 8-10 years experience including 5+ years top-tier management consulting experience (required), with brand/corporate/PE experience a plus
- Undergraduate business degree required; MBA strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communicator; quick learner
- Highly collaborative and relationship-driven
- Consumer and/or beauty experience a plus
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $240,000 - $280,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
