Position Description
We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the del Mrmol lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The del Mrmol lab seeks to decipher the molecular logic of olfaction, focusing on the study of odorant receptors in arthropods like mosquitos. Using an interdisciplinary range of approaches such as cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), electrophysiology, computational modeling, and behavioral studies, projects in the lab aim to elucidate molecular basis of odorant recognition, discrimination, and specificity. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates who are interested in these or related fields, particularly those who may bring a new technology or perspective to bear on the work in the lab.

The successful candidate will work with Dr. del Mrmol to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab’s research focus. In addition to carrying out bench research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members as needed, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and collaborative environment.

With this appointment, you are represented by the Harvard Academic Workers (HAW) – UAW for purposes of collective bargaining and matters affecting your compensation and working conditions.
Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in areas such as biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, neuroscience, or related fields
