Staffing Pros, a division of VETS Inc., is recruiting for a full-time Microsoft Security Engineer based on-site at the Beltsville, MD office, with occasional travel to the Washington, DC office.
This candidate needs to have hands‑on experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and the Microsoft Security ecosystem, including Microsoft Purview. This role supports the protection of sensitive government and enterprise data across cloud, endpoint, and database environments, with a strong focus on compliance, governance, and risk reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain DLP policies within Microsoft 365 and related security services.

Configure and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities, including:
- DLP policies
- Sensitivity labels and information protection
- Data classification and governance controls
- Protect sensitive data across structured data sources, including SQL databases and data platforms.
- Partner with database, cloud, and application teams to ensure sensitive data is properly classified, monitored, and protected.
- Monitor DLP alerts, investigate incidents, and support response and remediation efforts.
- Support security compliance and audit activities aligned with federal and organizational requirements.
- Create and maintain security documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Operate in accordance with security best practices for cleared environments.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and the Microsoft Security ecosystem.
- Must have a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance is required.
- Must be able to commute to Beltsville, MD and occasionally to Washington, DC for full-time onsite work.
- Must have a security background combined with data and database familiarity (e.g., SQL) and experience operating in a federal environment.
- Experience working within the Microsoft Security stack, including Microsoft 365 security features.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, particularly for DLP, data classification, or information protection.
- Experience or working knowledge of SQL or database environments, especially as it relates to data security and governance.
- Understanding of data protection principles, sensitive data types, and access controls.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing DLP or Purview controls in government or cleared environments.
- Background in database administration, data management, or data engineering with a security focus.
- Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST).
- Microsoft security certifications (SC‑400, SC‑200, Azure Security), preferred but not required.
